The Spindler Family is one which has been entrenched in Oregon since before the Muggle Population made the the long trek over to colonise the area. The current Head of the family is Quentin Spindler, although his eldest son, Diggory is held close in his council, and is known to have the full support of his father in anything he does.

The Spindler Family is one that has always believed in primogeniture, several generations back using charms to tie the estate to the bloodline to ensure that it would never fall out of the proper order of things, thus Diggory is ensured that he will, eventually, inherit the entire estate, as will his eldest son, Geoffrey, after him.

That isn't to say that the rest of the family is left out in the cold. Once the formal preceedings occur (following the death of the previous Head of the family) the new Head redistributes the family holdings, most often without change from how things had been previously. There has been one exception to this in the last century, but as that particular Head did not live long, it has been mostly forgotten.

The family tends to be fairly heavily into politics; Quentin still holds a position on the Wizards Council, Diggory is involved in some very secret dealings of a political nature, and his second eldest brother, Anthony, is working his way slowly up through the ranks of the Magical Cabinet.
