OOC: Sonora Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry was officially launched on the third of December, 2004. Created and started by Lucinda Marnett, the site is now run by Manfred Bulla. BIC:
Just over one hundred and fifty years ago, the west was a new, unruly place sought out by enthusiastic pioneers hoping to discover their fortune there. The wizard population was scattered throughout these vast lands, but with no set law code or formalised systems. They were a free bunch thatwho found the isolation and freedom of the west endearing and the limited muggle population even more so. Curtius Tribble and Leith Clurican were two such wizard pioneers who transversed the west in hopes of - and successfully - establishing a school there, which later became known as Sonora Academy.
Today, Sonora still exists in the lonely, intolerable environment of the Painted Desert, Arizona. Truely, it is a paradise hidden in the barren desert. The environment of the school is the antithesis of the lands that surround it, from the very green Labyrinth gardens protected by complex weather charms, to the waterfalls that cover the walls of the Cascade Hall. Students are admitted at the age of eleven keeping with the Hogwarts tradition that the founders regarded fondly, and sorted into one of the four houses.
