Noire Family

No matter where one goes, there is always some family that takes a twisted delight in ruining the lives of everyone around them. For the Pureblood families of Great Britain, one of those (at least, they like to think so) is the Noires. An ancient family who can trace their lineage back to those who came over with William the Conqueror (and do, quite frequently, and with great enthusiasm), they are generally referred to with fear, awe, or general contempt.

The current head of the family is Christine Noire. Contrary to tradition, she overrode her two older brothers, Raoul and Erik (their mother had a sick penchant for muggle writer Gaston Leroux) and the opinions of society to rise to the position. While there were many objections to this turn of events at the time, now it is generally regarded as the smartest decision possible, with her supporters citing the devil-may-care attitudes and generally idiocy of her siblings as reason enough for the unorthodox transfer of power.

The Noire family remains solely British as far as bloodline goes. There was one brief link to the ambitious American Zucchero family with the marriage of Christine and David Zucchero, but that ended in divorce less than two years later. The only child of the union, Jennifer Noire Zucchero, is assumed to be Christine’s heir and the next head of the family, even though that has not been formally declared.

There are three other children in the current generation: Paul and William, the sons of Raoul, and Gary, the son of Erik.
