New Hampshire Pierces
Matriarch
Druscella Pierce (née Blackstone)Mt. Pierce
The seat of the New Hampshire branch is a mountain estate that once belonged to the Brighton family. On this mountain, a new mansion was built shortly after Derwent Pierce the First returned East from California. It was into this extensive home that Derwent brought his new wife, Natalie, to live once they were married. His sister, Berta, also joined them there. This mansion is the one currently regarded as the primary Pierce homestead and is the site of the annual Pierce Family Reunions every August. Druscella and Berta remain as its only permanent residents. The original Brighton Manor was refurbished when Derwent Pierce the First married Natalie, the last Brighton daughter, for her parents to live in until their death. Some time after the Brightons passed away, this home was given over to Derwent's eldest legitimate son, Rubert, and his wife, Druscella, as their wedding present. This trend continued when his firstborn son married (Rubert's widow and younger four children had moved in with DP1), and now it is known as the Heir's House. Currently, it is occupied by Derwent Pierce II, his wife, Jessica, his son, Derwent Pierce IV, and the family ghost, Hamlet.
After his wedding to Natalie, a third house was built on the mountain for Derwent's parents to live in. This one was less impressive than the other two, as Gerald and Veronica Pierce were not accustomed to wealth, but it was still far more ostentious than any home they had ever imagined owning before DP1 went West. This home is now owned by Rubert's middle child, Thesius. With him, reside his wife, Katrina, and their newborn son, Thaddeus.
A fourth home was built for Derwent One's second and final legitimate heir, Thaddeus. He moved away from Mt. Pierce when his children (both daughters) were grown. Rubert's youngest son, Malcolm, took over his place. He now lives there with his wife, Bettina, their daughter, Melinda, and their twin infants, Annabelle and Annette.
The last and most recent house built on the mountain was created for Marcus Pierce, who still owns it. He lives there with his wife, Caitlin, and their two sons, Duesius and Wesley.
The remaining offspring of Thaddeus and Rubert were daughters and thus moved into homes provided by their husbands. They do not live on the mountain and are considered Treadways, Monettes, or Hadleys for all practical purposes.
