Leonardo Idoya III

Leo IdoyaIf he were asked what he was, Leo Idoya wouldn't answer "a twin," "a student," "a wizard," or "a closet Quidditch enthusiast." He would name himself as the chosen heir to the patriarch of La Familia Idoya. Since birth, this was Leo's purpose in life, this was what his father and grandfather trained him for. So, while his twin brother Gil was playing with their innumerable cousins and helping his mother bake cookies, Leo was cloistered with the current patriarch, Leonardo I, learning etiquette, the names and histories of associated pureblood families, and how to function in social circles without being torn to shreds physically, emotionally, or mentally.

Needless to say, this does not make the young Crotalus the most sociable of boys. In fact, outside of socializing in the more political settings he's been exposed to since he was a young child, he can hardly understand the concept of friendship. Leo cares little about other's feelings, since his cousins were used to his ways and never paid him any mind anyway. This can make life more than a little lonely for Leo, especially since he and Gil were separated into different houses at Sonora. His loneliness, ironically, only serves to embitter him more against children his own age.

Despite his many faults, though, Leo isn't irredeemable. He's ferociously loyal towards his entire family, his twin brother and younger sister in particular - he adores Gil, though very few outsiders would be able to see the close bond the brothers share beyond their many, many differences, and his relationship with Mercedes has always been good. He also enjoys playing Quidditch, Seeker particularly, and if he had his choice of career - before becoming the patriarch of his family, of course - he would become a professional pianist. He's never happier than when his fingers are sliding over those black and white keys.

Leo lives on the family ranch with his parents and siblings (Mercedes and Gil), his paternal grandparents, ten of thirteen aunts and uncles, and most of his twenty-one cousins.
