A Pure Family of the South, the Lavines of Louisiana owe a long and prosperous history to their French and Spanish ancestors who colonized the Louisiana territory and established the port of New Orleans. Nobles and court members of both French and Spanish courts, the Lavines have long possessed seats of power in the community. Upon annexation into the United States, the Lavines entered into the realm of American politics. A family affair, the election of a male Lavine into office has been a responsibility of each generation. The current-day Lavines are split into three major branches- New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Paris. The three branches originated from the three children of Lynette and William Lavine Sr: William Lavine Jr., Rose Lavine Terpsichore, and Matthew Lavine.


The family of William Jr. is located in Paris, France. After marrying Jacqueline La Fleuvre, a proper French pureblood, William moved to Paris as an act to enforce current ties with the French Pureblood Society. Their two children, Giselle Marglise and Michel Giles, are the heirs to the French Branch of the Lavines.




Rose Lavine Terpsichore moved from New Orleans, LA to Baton Rouge after her marriage to wealthy Pureblood businessman James Terpsichore. They have twin daughters Helena Blondelle and Hermia Trinette Terpsichore.


The final branch of the triumvirate is the current ruling branch in the Lavine family. Matthew Lavine met an equally wealthy young Anne Merille while in the Crotalus House at Sonora Academy. A few years after their graduations, the two were married. Although Matthew was the youngest of his siblings, his branch rules due to ancient familial law: The head line must be male descended and living in the state of Louisiana. Thus at the untimely murder of the Wizarding Governor and First Lady of Louisiana, the orphaned Brett Matthew, Javon William, and Elizabeth Anne were the next in line. At the time, the children were 16, 11, and 6, respectively. Currently, Brett is a member of the Magical Cabinet's Senate as a representative for Louisiana. Javon is a member of the NQL team, the New Orleans Hurricanes. Lizzie is a 5th year student of Pecari House at Sonora Academy.
