This tiny, nearly extinct, family resides in Alabama. Their political influence is all but nonexistant, the family's good "connections" consisting of a pair of second cousins, Rosemary and Marcia, who respectively married Henry Vaughn and Henry Layne III, now patriarchs of their small, insular families.

Ironically, the Grayson family is most known for the connection its surviving members curse the most: the one to the Wright family. Ralph Wright's fatal error of getting on the wrong side of the wizards who ran the area also lead to those wizards taking it out on his in-laws, leaving them with almost nothing by the time Ralph died. They never got their old status back and, bitter, refused to help Marlene Wright or her children despite the blood relation. Knowing full well that it would infuriate them, she gave her son her maiden name as his given name, leading to the Grayson Wright line of patriarchs.

The current patriarch is Wesley Grayson.
