The Dobsons are relatively respectable pureblood family which is spread throughout the northern states. Unlike lots of families, they move all over the place in order to widen the gene pool and not become inbred. They tend to be very low key and don't have quite the same tendencies towards scandals as some other purebloods. Politically, they tend to have very liberal beliefs and be very tolerant, even welcoming "new purebloods" (families that only go back a few generations) into the family.
