The Cutler family was once a Delaware pureblood family of fairly respectable status who had a tendency to produce daughters. They also at one time had large families, given their need to produce an heir. The last Cutler son, Nicholas, married a pureblood woman named Coral and they had five daughters, Petunia, Pansy, twins Poppy and Posey and the youngest, Peony. After Peony's birth, Coral was no longer able to have children and so they were left heirless.

Posey died at 16 after a "mysterious illness". She continues to go on as a ghost.

Peony married Steven Beckett I of the Vermont Becketts.

There are no wizards bearing the Cutler name today though their blood lives on through the descendents of Petunia, Pansy, Poppy and Peony.
