Cascade Hall

Cascade Hall is a place of congregation where students and faculty alike meet for regular meals, special feasts, and other such activities. Rippling waterfalls cascade silently down the walls of the hall only leaving a few windows untouched. Crystal chandeliers, reflecting the colours of the falls, light the room. The marble floor is a white and beige hue which adds to the lavishness of the decor.

One of the many fountains lining the Cascade HallHalls tend to be the hubs of the schools they are part of, and the Cascade Hall proves no exception to this rule. It hosts both the bigger events in the school calendar such as Opening feasts (also known as Sorting Feasts as they double as both welcoming and sorting ceremonies), closing feasts, alumni lunches and the more important exams taken by fifth and seventh year students, as well as the everyday meals of staff and students.

As well as that more usual functions, the Cascade Hall provides a purely aesthetic purpose by the sheer beauty of the room. Along with similar places within the school's grounds, such as the Hall of Plants, it pleased the founders to have such a place in their school as it reminded them of the greener, more lush lands they had come from. It also didn't hurt to have a visible enchantment on their school - the weather charms that are interconnected with how much of the things within the boundaries of the school are possible - to rival such wonders as the Ice Sculptures of Académie de Magie Beauxbâtons and the magical ceiling of Hogwarts Academy, and thus attempt to lure more students to attend.
