The Arygris' are from Athens and still reside there today. Aglaia Xylander and Stephanos Arygris wanted their three daughters to get an American education. the two younger sisters (Selene and Zoe) went to Sonora, but it was apparent when she was very young, that Penelope was a Squib and was therefore sent to a small school in California that caters to Squibs from all over the world.

Penelope met and married a muggle, Edward Valentine, in college. They had five children, including Earl before she died of bone cancer.

Selene was born on May 9. She has long, dirty blonde hair and dark brown eyes. She was known as the Seductress of Sonora because of her beauty and her need to flirt with any member of the opposite sex in sight. She still does this even though she's married with two children. She met her husband, Nicolaas, while on a trip to Greece after graduating from Sonora. They fell in love and married soon after meeting. Though she flirts, Selene is very happily married and none of her fliratation go beyond that. Their two girls are named Carly, who is currently ten, and Chloe, who is six. They will be privately tutored in magic instead of going to school.

The middle child, Zoe, was born on December 30th. She is long, dark, straight, brown hair and medium brown eyes. Impulsive and inwardly emotional, she remains calm to those who don’t know her telltale sign of ill ease: she twirls her hair. She is graceful, slender, vivacious, attractive, elegant, friendly, unpretentious, and modest, does not like anything in excess, abhors the vulgar, loves life in nature and in calm, is not very passionate, but is full of imagination, with little ambition. Zoë prides herself on her cleanliness and urges others to be as clean as she. Zoe became a mediwitch right out of school and married Alexander Brown, an ex-patient of hers. They had three children: Michael (7), May (4), and Melissa (2).
